The Rover 400 was given a facelift in 1999, becoming the Rover 45. It was the Mark II 400, based on the Honda Domani and Civic, and the last collaborative model between Rover and Honda. The R30 project, intended to produce a Rover 35 and 55 in 2003 on an all new platform, was later cancelled when BMW divested its ownership of Rover Group in March 2000. The Rover 45 was the final name of the 400. It had been the 400 since 1995.
