The Honda Ascot ended its run in 1997. Japan's economy was sliding into recession after the bubble years, and demand for the Accord stayed strong, so Honda dropped the Rafaga and the Ascot in 1997 and put the Honda Torneo in their place. The Torneo was based on the CF series Accord platform, and the Ascot had been a Japan-only sedan sold since 1989. This page belongs to the Honda Ascot (second generation), 1993 to 1997 model years; the generation page and the Honda Ascot model page link to the other model years, so the changes of neighbouring years can be read in order.
