1996 Range Rover

Automobiles

Production of the original Range Rover ended in 1996, after a run of 26 years that Autocar magazine, in early 2020, ranked twenty-seventh among the longest-lived single-generation cars in history. The first generation had begun as a two-door car and ended as an upmarket four-door with air suspension, a 4.2-litre V8 in the long-wheelbase LSE and the 300Tdi diesel. Its chassis, drivetrain and body structure lived on in the Discovery until 2004.
