For 1996 body color mirrors were no longer available on the LHS, nor the optional carphone. With the withdrawal of the New Yorker, front bench seats became optional. A Homelink garage door opener and a hidden antenna became standard equipment, and OBD II was added, with a new engine ignition and carburetion management module and more comfortable center console. The antenna was hidden inside the rear brake lights.
