The Sunfire was introduced for the 1995 model year to replace the Sunbird, with dramatic styling shared with the redesigned Chevrolet Cavalier. At introduction it was available with a three speed automatic or a five speed manual, and prices in 1995 ranged from the base sedan at 10,243 dollars to the 14,195 dollar coupe GT. The 2.3 liter Quad 4 engine was optional.
