The second generation Triton of 1995 was in its tenth year, soon to be replaced by the 1996 generation. The 3.0 liter V6 6G72 equipped models had a flaw in the design of the engine lifters, as noisy lifters resulted in catastrophic engine failure over time. The truck continued to be produced until 1996. In the United States Mitsubishi marketed it as the Mitsubishi Mighty Max until 1996. The Triton is a mid-size pickup truck, also known as the Mitsubishi L200, produced by Mitsubishi Motors.
