For 1994 the Grand Prix went through a mid generation facelift inside and out, as well as a reshuffling of the lineup, and the LE and STE models were discontinued. The sixth generation Grand Prix was a front wheel drive W body car that had been introduced in January 1988, sold as a coupe and as a sedan, and the 1994 changes carried it through 1996. After the reshuffling, the sixth generation Grand Prix ran on to 1996 with the LE and STE models gone, and the coupe and sedan continued.
