An automatic transmission option for four cylinder Wranglers came in 1994, along with a standard center high mounted brake light. The Wrangler continued in YJ form with the 4.0 liter six as the optional engine. The 1994 Wrangler gained a standard center high mounted brake light, and the four cylinder cars could now have an automatic. The Wrangler was sold in the base, Laredo and Sahara trims, and the YJ would end with the 1995 model year, as work on the TJ had begun in 1990.
