For the 1994 model year Ford commenced production of the Ranger for Mazda, which began to sell it as the B Series pickup truck, in effect reversing the 1972 to 1982 agreement behind the Courier. The instrument panel gained a six digit odometer, the doors gained side impact guard beams, and the Ranger adopted CFC free R134a air conditioning. Mazda North America had ended its imports of the Japanese made B Series.
