The internationally known FD series RX-7 didn't receive its upgraded twin turbo 13B-REW engine until early 1992, after the Eunos Cosmo had set several firsts in automotive history. The Cosmo's two rotor 13B-RE and three rotor 20B-RE were the first Japanese built, series production twin sequential turbo systems to be offered for sale on any car. The Eunos Cosmo served as the halo vehicle of the Cosmo line, which Mazda produced from 1967 to 1995.
