An estate version of the Scorpio was first shown in October 1991 at the London Motorfair, ahead of its going on sale at the beginning of 1992 when the whole range underwent a facelift. The Scorpio Mark I was a stretched Sierra platform car with Cologne V6 and DOHC engines, in hatchback and saloon bodies, still badged Granada in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It replaced the European Granada. The Scorpio was an executive car from Ford Germany, sitting on a stretched version of the Sierra floorpan.
