The third and final version of the Orion was launched in September 1990, identified at the front by clear indicator lenses and by a chrome bar that ran through the grille. It received criticism from the motoring media for its lack of design flair and the disappointing refinement of some of its engines. Trim levels included LX from 1990 to 1993 with 1.3, 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 16 valve petrol and 1.8 diesel engines, GLX and Ghia.
