The monochromatic Nite package, with an all black exterior and a pink or blue and purple stripe, was introduced in 1990 according to the later generation's article, and continued to 1992. The F-Series in 1990 was an eighth generation truck on the 1980 cab and chassis in Custom, XL and XLT Lariat trims. Overdrive transmissions and fuel injection had by then reached the 5.0 and 5.8 liter V8 engines as part of a steady refinement.
