The Chrysler Town and Country minivan was introduced in the spring of 1989 as an early 1990 model. Bright White Clearcoat was the only color at first, with Black Clearcoat added in June 1989 as an option, and a chrome waterfall grille styled like the Chrysler New Yorker set it apart from the Dodge Caravan and Plymouth Voyager. For 1990 production, the Chrysler built 3.3 liter V6 replaced the Mitsubishi 3.0 liter, and the interior had leather seating and an Infinity II sound system.
