1988 Lincoln Continental

Automobiles

The eighth generation Continental went on sale in December 1987 as a 1988 model. It shared its unibody chassis with the Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable, with its own body and interior and a wheelbase three inches longer, and was the first front wheel drive Lincoln and the first since 1948 sold without a V8. The 3.8 liter Essex V6 made 140 horsepower. By interior volume it was the largest front drive car marketed in 1988, with adaptive air ride suspension exclusive to it.
