In June 1987 the two cylinder Vulcan II engine of the Minicab was replaced with the three cylinder Cyclone, the 3G81, and a supercharged model, now called U14 and U15, was added to the lineup. In 1987 the Minicab became the first manufacturer offering of a supercharged kei truck. From 1987 until 1990 a wider version with a longer rear end was built in Indonesia as the Jetstar. The Minicab was sold in Japan at a specific retail chain called Galant Shop.
