The eighth generation F-Series, built from 1987, carried over the previous generation's cab and chassis with minor changes to the vent windows, the interior trim mounting locations and the floor pan shape on the transmission hump, but the 1987 truck was more streamlined. The trims were Custom, XL and XLT Lariat, from vinyl upholstery with a black grille up to cloth upholstery, a chrome grille, tinted glass and a leather wrapped steering wheel.
