For 1986 the Mark series was integrated into the Lincoln brand after 18 years within the Continental marque, ending the naming confusion, and the car became the Lincoln Mark VII. A number of changes were made for the LSC to differentiate it from the rest of the Mark VII line: the 1986 LSC was given analog gauges in place of the all digital dash and its engine output rose to 200 horsepower. The Mark VII was a rear wheel drive luxury coupe on the Ford Fox platform, shared with the Thunderbird, Mercury Cougar and Lincoln Continental.
