In 1985 Ford added an Eddie Bauer trim package for the Bronco, featuring a color keyed two tone exterior and an outdoors themed interior, and fuel injection was first introduced on the 5.0 liter V8 in 1985. The third generation Bronco, based on the F-150, was sold as a three door wagon only, with a lift off hardtop, and it was still sold with part time four wheel drive. The Bronco II was still sold separately as a smaller SUV.
