For 1984 the hood ornament was removed and the Chrysler Pentastar moved to the grille. Also the tail lights received chrome trim, and the interior received a padded dash and a new black instrument cluster with round gauges that were functionally improved with the addition of a trip meter and replacing the engine and generator signals with temperature and voltage gauges. Peak sales were reached in the first year, with another high in 1984.
