The 1984 Camaro was praised by the press, with Road and Track naming the Camaro and Firebird among the twelve best cars in the world, and Car and Driver picking the 1984 Camaro Z28 as the best handling car built in the United States. The Z28 and its Export version, the Z28-E, were sold in very limited numbers in 1984 and 1985. The third generation was built at the Van Nuys, California plant, which built its last Camaro in 1992.
