1982 Range Rover

Automobiles

A Chrysler TorqueFlite three-speed automatic joined the options list in October 1982, after years of demands from buyers. Pope John Paul II's UK tour of 1982 used two custom Range Rovers among his three popemobiles, designed by Ogle Design as the first fully bulletproof papal transports and delivered at a cost of 128,000 pounds. The four-door Range Rover was available for its first full year, and its V8 was still fed by carburettors.
