The 1982 Grand Prix was a virtual rerun of the 1981 model with no appearance changes to note, and no gasoline powered V8 engines were offered that year in the United States. The automatic climate control option had been dropped in 1981, leaving just manual climate control on all models, and most 1982 models had a two tone interior. It was the fifth year of the downsized fifth generation. The 1982 Grand Prix was in the middle of the downsized generation that began for 1978 on the A body platform.
