1979 Jeep Cherokee

Automobiles

The Golden Eagle package was introduced in 1979, a graphics package that was essentially a Cherokee with special trim. General Motors' Turbo-Hydramatic TH400 automatic was optional through 1979, and was replaced by Chrysler's transmission after that, and Dana 44 axles were used front and rear at least through 1979. Dana 44 axles were again used front and rear, and brake hardware was mostly General Motors equipment with disc brakes in front.
