The 1978 model year was the last for the Fury as a Plymouth model line. The B body Fury was the largest Plymouth, and by 1979 Plymouth no longer had a large car. The name continued on the Gran Fury and on police versions. It was the final year of the seventh generation and of the B body mid-size Fury that had replaced the Satellite for 1975, though the Fury name lived on in the Gran Fury that was sold through the 1989 model year, mostly to police and taxi buyers.
