In 1977 Pontiac and other General Motors divisions downsized their full sized cars in an effort to lighten weight and improve gas mileage, and the Catalina continued as Pontiac's entry level full size automobile. A Buick built 231 cubic inch V6 was now standard in sedans and coupes, with optional Pontiac built V8s of 301, 350 and 400 cubic inch displacements. This page belongs to the Pontiac Catalina model on its Pontiac make page, and it links to the generation and the neighbouring model years so that the whole run of the model can be followed in order.
