In 1977 the Charger Sport and the base Charger were dropped, because that body style became part of the newly named Monaco B body line, and only the Charger SE and the Charger Daytona were offered. Production was limited as the nameplate neared the end of the B body generation. The base two door body style, which had been the Charger Sport and the Coronet two door, became part of the Monaco B body line, so only the two more luxurious Chargers survived.
