In 1975 production of the Landau fell to 2,911 cars. It remained Ford's flagship in Brazil, a large four door sedan that still used the design of the 1966 American Galaxie, with a 292 cubic inch V8 engine as its power, before the engine was replaced the next year. Ford Brasil produced it at its São Paulo area plant for twelve years. The Landau was Ford's top model in Brazil and the only large American style sedan the company built there.
