The Suburban adopted a base Custom Deluxe, a mid level Scottsdale and a flagship Silverado trim nomenclature for 1975, and the model line had minor revisions that year. GMC Suburbans were initially Custom, Super Custom and Sierra Grande, and in 1975 Sierra Classic replaced Super Custom. The Silverado name, which would become the name of the whole Chevrolet pickup line in 1999, thus began as the top Suburban trim of 1975.
