1974 Range Rover

Automobiles

In 1974 British Leyland withdrew the Land Rover brand from the American market after sales declined and design regulations changed, so the Range Rover remained available to Americans only through unofficial imports. In Britain, it was the two-door Range Rover with the 3.5-litre Rover V8 that British buyers could order, as the car developed its reputation as a luxury country-house vehicle with the early version aimed at construction and military users.
