The 1970 Renegade I models continued the features of the 462 package, with special hood trim stripes and limited colors, in an estimated 250 to 500 units, with 8 inch wide white road wheels with G70 by 15 tires and offered in only two bright colors, Wild Plum and Mint Green. American Motors bought Kaiser Jeep that year and ended the camper option, so 1970 was the last Kaiser designed model year in AMC ownership.
