The R360 of 1968 was sold only as a special order automatic for disabled drivers, years after full production ended in 1966. It was the 380 kg, rear engined, air cooled V twin kei coupe that had been the first passenger car produced by Mazda, and the Carol and the Familia had by then become the main Mazda small cars. The R360 sold 23,417 examples in its first year, with total cumulative production amounting to 65,737 examples.
