In 1966 the Bonneville featured a minor update, with new front and rear sheet metal, trim and bright work, and the powertrain components were the same as in 1965. The 1966 car was the second year of the fourth generation, on the 124 inch wheelbase B body that was introduced for 1965, and the Bonneville remained the senior full size Pontiac above the Catalina. Pontiac held third place in American sales from 1962 to 1970.
