The 109-inch Series II Station Wagon brought a twelve-seater option in addition to the usual ten seats. The reason was fiscal: in Britain a vehicle with twelve or more seats counted as a bus and escaped Purchase Tax and Special Vehicle Tax, so the twelve-seater cost less than the ten-seater and even less than the seven-seat 88-inch Station Wagon. The 107-inch Station Wagon of the Series I stayed in production until late 1959 because export demand continued, and New Zealand began buying Series II vehicles that year.
