The 1959 Corvette was a quiet year in which the engines and horsepower ratings did not change from 1958. A turquoise convertible top could be ordered in 1959 only, and from that year until 1962 a Corvette with the big 24 gallon fuel tank could not have a convertible top, since the folding mechanism no longer fitted. The big 24 gallon fuel tank, which could not be combined with the convertible top mechanism, was offered on cars through 1962.
