1958 Ford Country Squire

Automobiles

For 1958 rear air suspension became an option for the first time, intended to keep the load floor at a constant height, though the system saw few buyers. The Y block engines were replaced with an all new set of V8 engines named the FE series, a 332 cubic inch V8 or a 352, and the 3 speed Cruise O Matic automatic was introduced. The Country Squire was briefly joined by the Edsel Bermuda in 1958. The Country Squire was the top level Ford station wagon, distinguished by woodgrain bodyside trim.
