The 1954 Mainline continued as the base model of the Ford range in the United States, below the Customline and Crestline, available with the six cylinder or the V8 engines, as a two door sedan, four door sedan, two door coupe and the Mainline Ranch Wagon two door station wagon. The Australian Mainline Utility used an imported station wagon chassis with a large X member from the Ford Sunliner convertible for load carrying strength.
