1952 Ford

Automobiles

The 1952 Ford was the American Ford car line refreshed for 1952, still similar to the all-new 1949 Fords. A curved one-piece windshield joined a new overhead-valve 215 cubic inch Mileage Maker straight-six with 101 horsepower, while the old 239 cubic inch flathead V8 stayed at 110 horsepower. The design continued through the 1954 model year, with an updated body in 1955. The lines were reshuffled into Mainline, Customline and the top Crestline, which included the Sunliner convertible and the Victoria hardtop. Power brakes and steering arrived for 1953, Ford's fiftieth anniversary, and a 130 horsepower Y-block overhead-valve V8 replaced the flathead for 1954. Ford Australia also built it from October 1952 to 1955.
