Spares for the E83W of 1951 were a little harder to get hold of than those for other small Fords, because the van shared few parts with them. The Fordson was a half ton van built by Ford of Britain at Dagenham, which had been in production since 1938. It was sold as a Fordson and later as a Thames, and exported widely as Britain sought export sales after the war. The E83W was a half ton light commercial vehicle that Ford of Britain built at Dagenham, with a small side valve engine.
