The Atlantic made its debut at the 1948 Earls Court Motor Show in London as a four seat convertible, the Austin A90 Atlantic, a radical car for Britain with a wrap around windscreen and twin flying A hood ornaments. A convertible tested by the British magazine The Motor in 1948 had a top speed of 91 mph and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 16.6 seconds, and cost 824 pounds including taxes. It was shown beside the new Jaguar XK120.
