Though the Phantom III rolling chassis was completed in 1941, the last car was not delivered with a body to its owner until 1947. Cars were still being bodied and delivered in 1940 and 1941. The Phantom III was the final big pre war Rolls-Royce, so its last delivery in 1947 closed the line of large Rolls-Royce cars until the Phantom IV was built in the 1950s. The Phantom III was a pre war design. It was delivered after the war.
