The Wolseley Eight went into production in 1946 as a four door light saloon based on the Morris Eight Series E and sharing many body panels with the MG Y type. It was said at the time to be Lord Nuffield's favourite car. The car had been designed before the Second World War and was originally intended to be launched in 1940. At launch it was priced at 416 pounds, which was 115 pounds more than the Morris.
