In February 1932, following a reorganisation of the company's management, Rover announced a strengthening of the Family Ten chassis with heavier gauge material and redesigned cross members to improve torsional rigidity. An all new chassis with a four speed gearbox, freewheel, automatic restart, bigger brakes and spiral bevel final drive was announced in July 1932 with the same Pressed Steel body, and the Family Ten continued alongside the 10 Special.
