Magneto ignition was replaced by coil ignition on the Rover 10/25 in 1929. The car had been announced in 1927 as the old 9/20 with a larger bore, and by 1929 it was the standard small Rover, with a lengthened bonnet from the previous October and a range of Weymann bodied saloons and coupes. It still ran on the chassis of the old Rover 8 although improvements to the rear suspension followed. The year saw the end of magneto ignition on the 10/25.
