Yangwang Auto is a Chinese luxury electric car brand owned by BYD Auto and sold through Shenzhen Yangwang Auto Sales Co., Ltd. It was introduced in January 2023, and in China its vehicles occupy the price range above one million yuan, positioning the brand above BYD's other sub-brands Denza and Fangchengbao and aimed at European luxury makers. Yangwang was the first brand to bring BYD's proprietary individual wheel drive technology, called e4. Its first model, the U8 plug-in hybrid full-size SUV, was shown on 5 January 2023 and went on sale on 18 April 2023, alongside the U9 battery electric sports car with the DiSus active suspension. The U7 full-size luxury sedan followed, and a flagship sedan called the Altior has been announced. The brand logo is the Chinese character for lightning written in oracle bone script.
