Rockwell International was the American aerospace and industrial conglomerate that built aircraft and spacecraft under the Rockwell name from 1973 until it was broken up in 2001. It took that name when Rockwell Manufacturing Company was combined with the aerospace products of North American Rockwell. Under it the company produced the B-1 Lancer bomber, the Commander 112 and Ranger 2000 light aircraft, the experimental X-30, XFV-12 and X-31 programmes and the HiMAT research aircraft, and it built the Space Shuttle orbiters. Its Rocketdyne division supplied rocket engines, and in December 1996 the aerospace business was sold to Boeing.
