The Baja was a four passenger, all wheel drive coupe utility that Subaru built in Lafayette, Indiana from 2002 to 2006 and sold for model years 2003 to 2006 in the United States, Canada and Chile. It combined the handling of a passenger car with the open bed of a small pickup and shared its unibody platform with the Legacy and Outback wagons. The name came from the Baja California peninsula, home of the Baja 1000 off road race. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the first generation (2002 to 2006).
