Hino XL

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Hino XL series is a family of conventional cab heavy trucks built by Hino Motors, produced primarily in the United States and Canada and marketed exclusively for the United States. Introduced in 2019, it was the first model Hino launched under its modernized nameplate scheme, alongside the Class 6 and 7 L series and the Class 4 and 5 M series. The range has two models: the XL7, a Class 7 truck with a rigid tri-axle layout, and the XL8, a Class 8 truck that was also added as a tractor. Both use the newly developed 8.9-liter A09C six-cylinder diesel, the first Hino truck engine of its 9-liter generation, rated at 300 and 360 horsepower. Allison automatic or Eaton manual transmissions and Dana axles are fitted, in 4x2 and 6x4 layouts with day, extended or crew cabs. US production began in September 2019 at Mineral Wells, West Virginia, and the trucks are also assembled at Woodstock, Ontario.
