Freightliner Century Class

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Century Class was a Class 8 conventional truck that Freightliner built from 1996 to 2010, the first model of its C-Series family. It replaced the FLD conventional, whose structure dated back to 1977, and it was an aerodynamic sloped-hood truck sold as a day cab or with a rear sleeper. The C-Series was the first Freightliner family designed from the ground up by Daimler, and development aimed to cut running cost by reducing maintenance points and fuel use. The Century Class stayed in United States production until 2010, when the Cascadia replaced it, and in production for export markets through 2020.
