Berliet CBA

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Berliet CBA was a series of medium-duty trucks with chain drive, built by the French maker Berliet from 1913 to 1932. The first examples, built in 1913, had an inline four petrol engine of 4,398 cubic centimetres, and a stronger 5,322 cubic centimetre engine followed in 1915. When the First World War broke out the French army ordered the CBA in quantity to carry troops and materiel, and thousands were built, making it one of the most used trucks of that war. After the war many were sold to civilian customers and the type stayed in production, with later variants carrying heavier payloads of up to five tonnes, until the Berliet GD series replaced it.
